Yong Shu Qing is a dual-qualified Advocate and Solicitor admitted to the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak and the High Court of Malaya. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Hons) from University of Essex, United Kingdom, and has obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) from Legal Profession Qualifying Board (LPQB). She has experience in conveyancing, banking, corporate and commercial transactions, as well as estate matters.
In conveyancing, Shu Qing handles a broad spectrum of property transactions involving residential, commercial and development properties. She has been involved in high-value transactions, including the drafting of a Sale and Purchase Agreement for a RM45 million en-bloc land acquisition for a property development project. Her practice includes acting for financial institutions in banking and finance documentation ranging from retail financing to high-value commercial loans.
Shu Qing is also well versed in corporate and commercial matters, having drafted and advised on various agreements for corporate clients, including Shareholders’ Agreements, Share Sale Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements and Partnership Agreements.
In estate and succession matters, she advises on estate planning strategies and administration, including the preparation of wills, applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration, and advice on tax-efficient structuring of estate assets. She supports clients in navigating the procedural requirements of estate distribution with sensitivity and clarity.
Shu Qing handled civil and corporate litigation matters, including derivative actions under Section 347 of the Companies Act 2016, winding-up and bankruptcy proceedings on behalf of financial institutions to recover outstanding loan sums, as well as garnishee proceedings. This litigation background enables her to adopt a risk-conscious and commercially practical approach when advising clients on transactions.
