Alica Albert is a practicing advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Sabah & Sarawak and a junior legal associate of Messrs LV Partners. She graduated from Universiti Teknologi Mara, Shah Alam Selangor in 2018. She then completed her pupillage in Messrs Amin-Tan & Co, Pantai Dalam Kuala Lumpur and was admitted to High Court of Malaya on November 2019. Throughout her pupillage in West Malaysia, she handled personal bankruptcy cases involving credit card loan agreement. Even as a pupil, she was already exposed to different stages; beginning from issuance of summons, bankruptcy notice, creditors petition up until creditors’ meeting.
Upon being called to the High Court of Malaya, she decided to return to her home- the Land Below the Wind. On 2022, she began her pupillage in Messrs Roland Cheng & Co before moving to Messrs LV Partners Kota Kinabalu to which she eventually was called to the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak on November 2023. She has delved into various areas of law while in both firms, such as:

2. Assisting in written submission for Federal Court case, successfully setting aside application against a nominal defendant
3. Garnishee applications
4. Successfully executed Writ of Possession for three (3) units of premises at Imago Loft A, Kota Kinabalu
5. Contested and uncontested divorce cases
6. Assisting for a case against Jabatan Insolvensi Malaysia- to reinstate the status of an individual declared bankrupt after being discharge conditionally
7. Committal proceeding
8. Restraining order under Domestic Violence Act 1994
9. Bankruptcy- on behalf of unsecured creditor
At present, under Messrs LV Partners, she is particularly interested in divorce and general litigation cases. Nevertheless, she is also exploring conveyancing practice and is a part of Intensive Human Rights Law & Litigation Training in combating the statelessness as well undocumented issues in Sabah co-organized by Sabah Law Society and SUHAKAM.
She aspires to be a skilled solicitor who is well-equipped with knowledge from multiple areas of law. She believes in giving back to the society; the reason why she is aiming to be one of the lawyers for the Native Court of Appeal, a court with exclusive jurisdiction over Sabahan native customary law.
Outside the legal scope, she is currently a final year student of Diploma in Tourism Management (DTM) under the scholarship offered by Asian Tourism International (ATI) College. She is also a member of Gerakan Pengguna Siswa (GPS), which is an entity established by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) comprising university students trained on consumerism rights and issues
